Maria Do Carmo

Maria Do Carmo started the Dental Hygiene Program at The Ontario Dental Education Institute (ODEI) right after she completed high school. In 2010, Maria graduated from ODEI, with special acknowledgement recognition. She worked in dental offices in the GTA and the Hamilton area. She volunteered while still a student and then as a Registered Dental Hygienist with the Gift For Life program, providing people with free dental hygiene care in a first come first serve basis. She belonged to the Periodontal Study group of Toronto and volunteered with the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association ever since she was a dental hygiene student. She is presently part of the Newsletter Advisory Committee for the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association. She is also an active member of the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.

Maria maintains her continuing education by regularly attending courses to better her knowledge and advance her dental hygiene career. She became an Independent Registered Dental Hygienist in February 2016.

Maria speaks fluent English and Spanish. She loves dancing and working with the youth. Maria dedicates time to volunteering around the community as well.
